Grow Your World is a youth-centered community-building nonprofit rooted in Carrboro, North Carolina, with programs that also reach across Georgia, Virginia, and communities nationwide. Founded on the belief that equity and access create win-win outcomes for individuals and the broader community, Grow Your World works to ensure that every young person has the relationships, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive.
At the heart of the organization is a powerful theory of change: pair 2nd through 12th graders with college students and young adults who can serve as tutors, mentors, and role models, and then invest in those relationships deeply. The organization is structured to lift up the community’s youth, and by doing so the mentors and community members who show up alongside them as well.
On the program side, Grow Your World offers a range of opportunities designed to meet young people where they are. From after-school programming and evening tutoring to INKounter, their arts-integrated initiative, and to a vibrant Community Space on West Main Street, the organization weaves together academic support, creative expression, and mentorship. Whether a student needs help with homework, a space to make music, or simply a trusted adult in their corner, Grow Your World is building the kind of community where every young person can find their place.
